Our History Daryl started his involvement in RC back in the late 70's, when he was a young lad racing 6.5cc nitro multihulls at Southampton model power boat club. Daryl then progressed into cars, like many of us have done with Tamiya kits. At 17, when Daryl could drive himself around, he joined Dorchester dirt diggers off road club driving an AYK sidewinder. While at the club Daryl won his first of many championships as the 2wd club champion. With the club Daryl started to compete in the SWORDS series around the many south west club tracks, including Taunton, Tiverton, Hayle, St.Austell, Yeovil, Exeter etc etc. He also raced at WORMS at iford. 1994/95 Daryl launched infinity and again got involved in regional racing and larger events. Daryl continued to go to the Belguim GP for the next 13 years and made the A-final in 2003. During that time Daryl ran 2wd Losi, Team Associated, X-factory x6 and 4wd Yokomo, Losi xx4, xxx4, x5 factory then Team Associated. Daryl helped to get Bashley indoor running in 94 with 12th circuit and touring cars. Daryl attended the Scottish GP and raced touring car and finished 3rd in 2007. So with a wide range of events and classes Daryl has covered most classes including running Corally 12th's, TC3, TC5, X-Ray touring car, Kyosho turbo burns, thunder tiger ttrs3 and many more. Plus being a Team driver for Trinity, Kyosho, X-Factory, Associated and Infinity. With all this experience we had to ask what was his favourite class to run, Daryl replied 'Offroad on the right track!' |
